We are now busy writing the activities for the History section of the site. It has been so much fun getting into the heads of the Ancient Greeks, The Romans, The Anglo Saxons and The Mayan Civilisation etc. We are also writing activities to develop children’s history skills and their ability to understand the past. The materials will be live in the near future.

In our August Vodcast we are talking about ‘Drama for Writing’. We chat about how drama can enrich the writing process by encouraging children to experience a context firsthand, allowing them to empathise with characters, adopt their voices and describe scenes. We also explore how Drama for Writing isn’t always connected to stories. It can be utilised in so many subject areas. It fosters creativity in writing and helps reluctant writers engage in writing in role.  For example, a waiter might jot down orders or a scribe might take notes in a courtroom.
